Disclaimer: Okay, before we start, these revenge stories are not for the faint of heart. They are gory, violent, morally abusive. and sexually uncomfortable. If Mortal Kombat fatalities makes you look away, then these may not be for you. Okay? Okay! So, I have two revenge manga that have a lot in common, therefore I’ll put both in the same post.
A Second Life
So, allow me to recommend title: “Maou Ni Natta Node, Dungeon Tsukutte Jingai Musume To Honobono Suru”. Translated, the title is, “I became the demon lord so I created a dungeon and spend a heartwarming time there with non-human girls”. So, ridiculous name aside, this is a another Isekai manga (expect to see a lot more) involving a young man named Yuki, being transported into another world after his death. Now part of a world of magic and fantastical creatures, he has decided on one monumental dream: To live a peaceful life with the different people he cares for! However, despite his unobtrusive desires, there will always be something to thwart his plans. Continue reading ““Maou Ni Natta Node Dungeon Tsukutte Jingai Musume To Honobono Suru” (Ongoing Manga)”
We’re All Cavemen Now
Taiga of Genesis (Sousei No Taiga) of is survival manga involving a group of students being transported seemingly back a million years in the Cenozoic era. Here, these students must quickly adapt to this world where mammoths roam and predators are abundant. Is the cast knowledge from modern world and benefit for them or a hindrance? Mori Kouji, the author, does well to place the reader on foot with the group of capable students.
The Longest Hero’s Journey
Lets talk Rokudou No Onna-Tachi, a story of an underdog whose persists in spite of it. So for those unaware, this manga takes place with a peaceful kid whose stuck in a delinquent-congested school. There, he and his to friends are constantly bullied and it seems that they will never be at peace at this school. He then receives from a his late grandfather’s gift which imbues a magic mark on his forehead. The next day, it seems that girls have become oddly more attracted to him… Well to be precise, it’s only delinquent girls. This becomes a curse in disguise when the most violent and unbeatable girl crosses path with him and begins to follow him at school – her name is Himawari, Ranna. Beastars – Primal Romance
One feeling that encompassed nearly every episode of this series is, “uncomfortable”, and I mean that in the best way. In this world somewhat similar to Zootopia, meaning there are no humans, the story is set in a high-school filled with a myriad amount of animals. However the similarities end there as this takes a much more personal and primal approach to these anthropomorphic characters. In the attempt to focus on the idea of animal base urges, these creatures have been the most relatable characters I’ve seen from an anime in awhile. Age is Just A Number
Greetings! Here, we take a look at an ongoing Manga do it cant be called a review but more of a first impression. I often randomly bump across strange mangas by just looking at the covers. I’m usually attracted to sci-fi but character-driven stories always grab me no matter the genre. This brings us to a not-my-speed manga called, “I Want Your Mother To Be With Me!” or, “Kimi no Okasan o Boku Ni Kudasai!” Continue reading “First 8 – “I Want Your Mother To Be With Me!””
The Trueness of Acceptance
Well, it’s only my second manga review and it’s already about to get weird. So let’s delve into a manga of lust, impulsion, desperation, and hopefully love. Happy Negative Marriage (or HNM) is a romance/smut novel addressing some issues that I hardly see explored. Now because I believe many non-regulars may come to like this one I’ll try to avoid spoilers. I haven’t been able to find the books in English so the only way to support the guy is by buying books you cant read. Moving on!Continue reading “Happy Negative Marriage (Ongoing Manga)”
Sun-Ken Rock, the Adult Shounen
Rags To Riches
Now, this manga has a very comedic beginning and while it may very realistic, albeit, perfectly sculpted anatomy. The story starts as the world’s beefiest bum, living in the ghetto with a nice crew of neighbors. He was living a pretty uneventful life until the local ramen shop was roughed up by some yakuza. To everyone’s surprise, this NEET is absurdly strong and adept at fighting. He dispatches the goons and gained the attention of another gang. This gang gives him the vision to create a gang like no other. In truth, the protagonist doesn’t wish for fame nor power but as he puts, “I just want to protect someone!” The gang uses his bland desire to coerce him into not only joining the gang… but becoming the gang leader, Boss Ken.
The Boys Are in Town
If I’m being honest, I thought Avengers: Endgame satisfied my comic-book itch for a long time to come. As I began to observe Marvel’s upcoming phase 4, I found myself no longer invested in it all. I believe this is partly due to Disney being the master of turning art into a safe equation. So there it is, comic-book fatigue proven, hands clapped, and done! Then I began to watch Amazon Prime’s The Boys.
After the first three episodes, I was in awe and thought to myself, “It never ends, does it?”
10 Changes Luke Cage 2 Needs
With the new season around the corner, I had mostly lukewarm(HAH!) feelings about the show. It was an average show with amazing moments in it. Personally, I believe there are some things that need to handle in order for the season to be great! Here’s my list and let me know you agree or disagree with it!
