The Boys Review

The Boys Are in Town

If I’m being honest, I thought Avengers: Endgame satisfied my comic-book itch for a long time to come. As I began to observe Marvel’s upcoming phase 4, I found myself no longer invested in it all. I believe this is partly due to Disney being the master of turning art into a safe equation. So there it is, comic-book fatigue proven, hands clapped, and done! Then I began to watch Amazon Prime’s The Boys.

After the first three episodes, I was in awe and thought to myself, “It never ends, does it?”

10 Changes Luke Cage 2 Needs (Netflix Marvel Series)

10 Changes Luke Cage 2 Needs

With the new season around the corner, I had mostly lukewarm(HAH!) feelings about the show. It was an average show with amazing moments in it. Personally, I believe there are some things that need to handle in order for the season to be great! Here’s my list and let me know you agree or disagree with it!

Domino Issue #2 Review

Domino #2

SO WE’RE BACK WITH DOMINO’S NEW COMIC LINE AND I HAVE TO SAY, I’M ODDLY ENJOYING IT. I SAY “ODDLY,” BECAUSE I’VE ALWAYS SEEN HER IN THE LIGHT OF STRICTLY BADASS OR TOTAL “HOT ACTION BABE” FROM THE EYES OF DEADPOOL. WE WILL BE DISCUSSING THESE ISSUES IN DETAIL SO SPOILERS FROM ISSUE #2 AND BEYOND.

DeadPool 2 Review: More Misses Than Hits This Time Around

DeadPool 2

So let’s get into this! Ryan is back and bringing us another dose of that underdog franchise that grew to become the monster it is today. I just think it may have missed me with its sequel. Coming from someone who loved the first one, this is bit disheartening but nonetheless, hear out my less-than-stellar reception of the movie.

The thing is, DeadPool 2 is like the previous movie but doubled down. It heavily depends on jokes that, to me, were either recycled or went on too long. This often left me waiting for a funny moment rather than being bombarded by them. Continue reading “DeadPool 2 Review: More Misses Than Hits This Time Around”

Domino Issue #1 Review

Domino – The Lucky Merc

So in light of the new upcoming Deadpool movie, I wanted to get more info and entertainment on of Deadpool’s best pal/enemy – Domino.

Character and Powers

Domino or Neena Thurman is a female mutant whom, as a child was part of another super soldier program (because those always go as well as it did for Cap. America) named Project Armageddon. The tests were trials were severe with only her surviving. She bore the mutant ability to subliminally affect things around her using her latent psionic power. So in short, she is very lucky! Marvel’s Infinity War’s True Power: Investment

Infinity War’s True Power: Investment

So by now, I’m sure most of us have seen Marvel’s Infinity War. If you have not, come back after you watch it because we’re going into light spoiler territory here. This will be more of my thoughts and feelings regarding a particular aspect of the movie, rather than just a review.

The Power of Feels

Out of all the Marvel movies I’ve seen only a few managed to be more than “good” to “great”. Those few are The Avengers, Captain America: Winter Soldier and now Infinity War. However there’s one thing that I never thought these movies could do until now, and that created this unwavering attachment and fear of loss: “The Investment”. All eighteen or so movies, and not once did I believe these heroes were in true danger..

A Quiet Place:

So let’s talk, A Quiet Place…

A Quiet Place is our new thriller directed, starring and written by John Krasinski. In case you don’t know him by name, he’s one of those actors with a face that if your girlfriend left for you him, you’ll look at him and think, “Well, good for her,” mainly because he’s just darn likable. I have unintentionally followed a fair amount of his career from the Shrek and It’s Complicated” to The Office and this movie. He has a knack for comedic timing but I must admit he does drama really well.

By now you may have realized that I just wrote a whole paragraph just about Krasinksi, and that is because he’s the only person I rooted for in the movie – let’s explore.

Ready Player One: It’s A Small Sandbox

You see this sexy looking movie in the arcade, so of course you put your hard coins into Ready Player One, so what happens? Well, the movie start this movie off with a short hint of world-building, our protagonist Wade Watts, the new member of Hot-losers-Who-Would-Still-Get-Tail-In-Real-Life league, summarizes our world. So basically in the not too distant future*wink*, the world basically sucks and the only solace is the VR game world called The Oasis. So essentially all the mistakes we made to our economy and the world is booming down on us, so the world then decides to lock itself up in a game…. hmmm fair enough, sounds like a gamer. Now the Steve Jobs of the gaming dies leaving a hunt for tons of money and the control of the game. Simple! In fact, it’s strangely simple with little to replace it with.
