A beuatifully Possesed Gem
While there may be a plethora of dumpster-fire manga that I sift through daily, nothing quite beats that moment when you come across something that lights up your eyes and hooks you. For me, it may have been Sun-Ken Rock, Yuyu-Hakusho, or something like Dandadan. Today, however, I wish to share with you my most recent fix, Ender Geister. It’s Blue Exorcist meets Cowboy Bebop; has a nice ring to that sting.

God Of High School (or GOH) is a new anime that’s taking the internet by storm. It’s one of the few Korean manwha to be animated, and based on what I’ve read, it can only get better. The story involves an absurdly strong high schooler joining a fight tournament with the reward of being granted one wish. The anime specifically uses this simple premise to bypass all the world-building in order to get straight to the main selling-point of this series, the fighting! Disclaimer: Okay, before we start, these revenge stories are not for the faint of heart. They are gory, violent, morally abusive. and sexually uncomfortable. If Mortal Kombat fatalities makes you look away, then these may not be for you. Okay? Okay! So, I have two revenge manga that have a lot in common, therefore I’ll put both in the same post.

So Let’s Talk “Justice League” The Movie
Have you ever seen a group of siblings all varying in personalities? Most of them seem to be spoiled apples but then there’s that one kid who exceeds all expectations and goes forth to not only avoid the same path but create a greater, more amazing legacy of its own? Well, now we know who that sibling is in the DC family… Well, it’s still Wonder Woman but Justice League did manage to come behind and be a serviceable movie, nothing more. And… That’s kind of a problem.
This may prove fatal to many who were hoping Justice League was the movie to put the DC Universe on the same playing field with Marvel Studios. Truthfully, I own more DC comics than Marvel so I do wish for DC to get on a stable path, they just can’t seem to find their formula. Keep in mind, being an okay/good movie is not bad, at least it wouldn’t be until you realized the movie had a $300 million dollar budget. That accompanied with the opening week of around $96 million, it then stars to become ugly. Several months ago predictions of the movie making $130 million were considered being pessimistic and now look at where we are. Continue reading “Why Justice League Was Okay… And That’s Not Okay”
So…Man where do I start?
It wouldn’t be an understatement to say that this is one of my most anticipated movies of the year. For those who may not know, DeadPool was a project that Ryan Reynolds(playing Deadpool himself) has been trying to get green-lit for a long time. The movie stars Wade Wilson, a mercenary with a terrible sense of humor(terrible that it’s offensive but still funny) who is borderline insane, but has a sliver of humanity left in him. This humanity is enhanced when he meets a lovely stripper… prostitute….waitress? I’m not sure, she was either two or all three of those– moving on — but it turns out she is just as messed up as he is and they hit it off. They become an item until Wade is hit with cancer from the blindside. Now Wade rather not drag his girl down with him, so as he’s about to ditch his beloved he gets an invitation to not only cure him but give him super powers. Well with a 2-for-1 deal that would make Chilli’s blush, how can he say no? Continue reading “DeadPool Movie Review: If only This Came Sooner”
